Growing Stories

Terms of Service

Effective August 14, 2026

These terms cover the Growing Stories app and this website. Using either means you accept them. Your licence to install and run the app itself is Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, which you accepted through the App Store; where that agreement and these terms disagree about the licence, Apple's governs.

Who the account belongs to

An account is optional and belongs to an adult. Children read; they do not sign up, subscribe, or change settings. If you create an account you confirm you are 18 or over and that any child profile on it is one you are the parent or guardian of.

What you get

Treasure Island is free, complete, and needs no account. The Grow subscription opens the rest of the library for as long as it is active. The shelf grows over time, and we do not promise a particular book by a particular date. A story marked "coming soon" is announced, not sold.

Subscriptions and payment

The Grow plan is sold through the App Store, monthly or annual, and is charged to your Apple account. It renews automatically until you cancel, and Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours of the period ending. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.

Cancel from your Apple account's subscription settings, the same place you manage every other app. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running to its end. We cannot cancel or refund on your behalf, because we never hold the payment: refunds are Apple's to give, and you can request one through Apple directly.

If we ever raise the price, existing subscribers keep the price they signed up at unless they agree to the new one.

What you may do with the stories

Read them to your family, as often as you like, on the devices your account is signed in to. That is the whole intent.

What is not allowed: copying, extracting, or redistributing the story text or the illustrations, using them to train a machine-learning model, reselling access to an account, or using any of it commercially. The tales themselves are public domain and you are free to go to the source. Our retellings and every illustration in the app were made for it and belong to us.

Keeping the service running

The app needs a connection and talks to our servers, so there is no offline mode. We may change or withdraw features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. If we ever discontinue it altogether we will say so by email to account holders and stop charging subscriptions before we do.

We can suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms, in particular the redistribution rules above.

Ending it

Delete your account at any time from Settings, then Delete Account, which permanently removes it along with every child profile and all reading progress. Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription: cancel that with Apple, or it keeps renewing.

The legal part, briefly

The app is provided as it is. We work hard on it and we do not promise it will be free of faults or always available. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud, and nothing here takes away rights you hold as a consumer that cannot be signed away. Beyond that, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way we will update the effective date above and, where it matters, tell account holders by email.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of your own country's law.
